Step 1: Download palera1n-c’s latest release from Github. I will download palera1n-macos-universal because I am using M1 Pro Macbook, you may download other files if you are using other operating systems.
Step 2: Open the terminal, change directory to your download folder, then run sudo mv ./palera1n-macos-universal /usr/local/bin/palera1n to move the file into your bin folder, so that the system can recognise palera1n command.
Step 3: Run these 2 commands below to grant permission to palera1n for it to run smoothly later.
sudo xattr -cr /usr/local/bin/palera1n
sudo chmod +x /usr/local/bin/palera1n
Step 4: Connect your devices. Here is a few things to take note of:
- Connect your iPhone to the Macbook using USB-A cable instead of USB-C.
- Please make sure you have removed the passcode in the iPhone
- Reset your device
Step 5: Once you’ve done the above, please run palera1n -f -c -v and follow the steps shown in the terminal to make your device enter into the DFU mode. If you follow the steps correctly, you should see your device starts to reboot and run a lot of scripts. The process will take about 5 – 15 mins, then you will see your device is showing the usual lock screen again.
Step 6: Run palera1n -f -v again to install palera1n app into your device. It should be quite fast compared to the last reboot, once you’ve done, you should the palera1n app in your iPhone.
Step 7: Open up palera1n app, press on Respring button to download all the updates and Sileo app.
Step 8: Go to Sileo app, you will see a lot of pending updates, go ahead and download all the updates.
There you go, here is your jailbroken device, and you can install any apps from Sileo. Just be aware, if you restart the phone or set a new passcode, then your device will reboot and remove palera1n and sileo app, so you will have to repeat the steps above to jailbreak your device again.
